Did any of you feel the earthquake today? I know I did! I was woken up by it (yay for naps!). Both Sylvia and Tripod are okay (they didn't seem fazed by it), hubby's still confused slightly as to what happened. To update those who don't know: a 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit in Mineral, Virginia, which is about 140 miles away from me.

Actually right at the time of the quake all the birds freaked out. I didn't actually feel it so I had no clue as to what was wrong until I heard it announced on the radio

OHHHH! That might be why we briefly lost power this morning. Left poor Mr Phil in the shower in the dark (no windows in the bathroom)

It happened at 1:50-something this afternoon, eastern standandard, so it may have been. Weird thing: sylvia didn't freak out at all.

They cleared the municiple building because of it here in Sudbury.
All that did was cause a traffic jam which I got stuck in.

Goderich sure got it bad
When I left work there was little rain but lightning all around me. Very spooky looking
I just hit the sign that said Welcome to Kitchener and it was like driving into a wall of water.
Very little visibility and I had to sit in the car for about 10 minutes before finally running to the door of my house when I got home. Lightning was quite frightening, I don't think I've ever seen quite a show like that before and don't really want to see it again.

We barely felt it 
we did lose power, but only from 8pm-1am (sleep time!) 
sylvia and tripod were so relaxed. Only bad thing was tripod woudn't go outside to do her business b/c it was raining/flooding.

I got back from a lake house that was about 70 miles north of New York City. All we had was rain, and not very heavy rain at that. Very little wind -- I'd say it was more breezy than windy. Very strange how that area escaped all the horror. Only lost power for about a day and a half, too.

Way out east here in Moncton we experience a momentary power loss. We didn't feel anything though and my watch birds didn't say anything either.
