I hate the dentist

Just left the dentist. Getting a crown on my back tooth. Today's visit, which cost me $800, was to prep the tooth and put a temporary crown on while the make the permanent one.

The drill slipped and gouged my gums by my tongue. Not a happy camper. I know it was an accident, and they were EXTRA nice to me after that, but

I wish I had a beak instead of teeth!

Errrrrrg *shiver* I definitely am not a fan of the dentist. Even a cleaning - the polishing brush and the pick are worst. I'm going to have to go eventually, though. I've worn huge grooves in my plastic bite plane (which I wear at night so that I don't grind my teeth to nubbins)...

Even the under side of my tongue hurts. it's awful. I'm a bit miserable at the moment.
I hate cleanings too. But the X-rays are my least favorite. They always tear up the whole inside of my mouth.
It's just not fair. So much torture and so expensive!

Is there any way you can meditate or something while you're in the chair? Like, my version of "counting sheep" -- Start with "A" and try to think of five cities beginning with "A." Then move through the alphabet to "Z." It might help to keep your mind off of what's going on at least a little bit.

I have a dr appt tomorrow. I'm going to ask for something to help keep me calm. At least I didn't throw up this time. Lol. But I left looking like I had freckles. I had tiny specks of blood al over my face. I should have taken a pic.

Oh man I do not miss going to the dentist. But you did make me giggle a little picturing your freckles.
