Oh the irony ;)

So, I'm cleaning the bird cages. I used to put the old seeds into a
small metal mixing bowl, but Zulu and Pinkie liked to steel the finch
seeds from it, but usually just managed to tip the bowl a spill the
contents, so I started to use a more stable container, a 4 cup plastic
measuring cup. Pinkie and Zulu still managed to get inside to search out
the finch seeds.

Well
this morning when I placed the cup on the counter, Pinkie was waiting by
the cup patiently awaiting his bounty.


After that Zulu went in until
Pinkie noticed and she beat a hasty retreat. Then when he wasn't looking Zulu made for the cup. Only this time she face planted into the
cup with her but and toes in the air.

It was hilarious. Luckily I was
right there an extricated her by her tail. She is now looking quite
embarrassed and hiding at the edge of the finch cage. Well I have to
thank her for pointing out the dangers of leaving the seeds is a narrow
receptacle. We will now never leave the seeds around for them to pilfer.
Dangers lurk in the most innocent looking places.

But it was FUNNY!

I could see that happening! And if it was Freddy, he'd give that "I meant to do that" look!

Poor Zulu pretty much has a 'I have no idea what's going on' look on her face all the time. Like this

Kinda reminds me of something I saw yesterday with our little pompom birdies...
They are just learning to feed themselves and the one little yellow one was right in the bowl, would pick up a pellet and by the time he got it to his beak it would drop out and he'd open his foot and close it while really looking it over wondering what the heck???
Birds are adorable.
Zulu tell everyone to quit picking on you, it's normal to fall head first into a dish right?
