Won't Be Around For A While! Empty Won't Be Around For A While!

    Hi
I won't be around for a while because my name came up on the waiting list I was on for surgery and July 7th is approaching fast. Thankfully there was space available to board the birds for a week. It's the first time they've been away from us since we got them but they'll be in good hands.
It's going to be an adjustment for all of us.I'll be on crutches non weight bearing for a month or more then a walker and a cane but I had the other leg done in 2007 so we know what to expect in terms of recovery physio etc. but we didn't have the birds. Bronco is a velcro bird and they don't spend a lot of time in their cages but when I need a break they have no choice. Xev was 2 yesterday and has suddenly decided climbing on the outside of the cage is great fun.... if I don't trip over one of the cats I should be fine. Surprised

Wishing you a speedy recovery! I'm sure Xev and Bronco will adapt - I find that the little birdie beasties can be surprisingly empathetic (I get lots of Duck-in-shirts when I'm feeling down).

I second Andrea for you having a speedy recovery! You're birdies will be fine. They know you love them and you'll see them again!

Speedy recovery, like everyone else said! From what I understand, birdies like riding along on the front of walkers. Smile

Won't Be Around For A While! Empty Thanks

    Hi
Thanks for all the well wishes. I went for my pre-op on Tuesday and Jeff survived looking after Bronco with no blood drawn!
Now we're trying to get the house organised etc.
I should be home Sunday July 10th if all goes as planned, and depending on how I am we might bring them home early. Meds do weird things to me like sleeping pills keep me awake and the painkillers I was on last time made me loopy so we'll see.
Seeing double etc. with our cats could land me flat on them or my....
Thankfully I'm going to an orthoepedic hospital where sick people aren't allowed, so the chances of not catching something are better.
I think the birds know something is up because Bronco is going through toys that he hasn't touched for ages, like they were free! Laughing

PS Carol Bronco's pic was a nice surprise!
