When we cook, Ducki always wants to be a part of it. We tried briefly to leave him on his playstand in another room, but then he would either go for a walk and end up under our feet, or when unclipped he would fly in unexpectedly (very dangerous!). Now, we set up a playstand in the kitchen, where he can keep an eye on us (and we can keep an eye on him). He also appreciates getting samples in his food dish. When positioning the playstand, we wanted him to be as far away from the hot things as possible, while still close enough to feel included. The compromise - in front of the pantry.

    It's been great!

Except when I forgot to close the pantry...I turned around and he was hanging upside down from the wire shelves Giggle

I wasn't quite fast enough with the camera, but I think he still looks pretty guilty in this shot taken seconds later.

So TRUE! They are peanuts and he loooooves them. But for such a small bird, the fat % is a bit too high. He only gets them as uber treats once in a while.

That is also a very rare treat in our house too. Tree nuts like almonds yes but peanuts no.
