A couple of the pictures Brian took just before little Henry was release last Saturday.

We didn't see him again until this morning. He found his way back and as you can see I forgot to take in the bird food I left in the aviary

So adorable! And I'm glad he made it back - at least you know he's doing well and foraging on his own Smile

I also left the blanket in the aviary because it was wet. It was draped over the play tree and Henry went inside it and had a nice long nap after his breakfast Giggle but he has experienced his freedom and got quite upset to find the door closed on the aviary when he wanted to leave. Brian shut the door because he didn't want the dogs to find him. He's been in and out now for the last 2 days but I think he'll be looking for a place to hibernate soon.

It gets better Brian has built him his own room with a heated floor Laughing
It consists of 2 sections, one has a light bulb encased in wire meshed to keep it safe from being chewed on and the other section is a little room for Henry/Skippy.... I call him Skippy Smile and he's going to try and coax him down into the shed before we close up the aviary for the winter.
I'll post pictures of the box/room for you all.

Henry/Skippy drops by every morning to eat but I doubt he's interested in boarding with us Giggle He's scared of me which is good at least I know he won't approach other people but when Brian goes out he actually jumps on him Laughing

Just in the last few days Henry/Skippy has become more and more independent. I think Brian feels rejected Giggle

Poor Brian.....it can hurt your heart sometimes when the kids leave home.
Just shows that you did a good job Brian on raising Henry/Skippy and preparing
him for the big scarey world. Smile

I did try to tell him that it's good he's showing fear of people. It means he did everything right. I think the first meeting after his release was fantastic when the little guy jumped on Brian in greeting. But I think it was his way of saying Thank You for all you did I love you
