Okay, I tried to make this a poll, but it didn't work so I'll just ask. How often do you all feed your birds? Some of you know that my Mom has taken over the feeding of my birds, which is fine if she enjoys it, but she insists on feeding them 3X a day, which I've told her is excessive! Feedback on this? Shocked

During the week, when I work, he gets 2 tbsp of fresh pellets before I leave and some 'drier' veggies in his veggie bowl (like beans). When I'm home and he spends most of his time shoulder surfing, he has a dish of pellets (1 tbsp) on his playgym and eats my veggies.

I weighed him every day when switching from seeds to pellets to make sure he wasn't losing/gaining too much weight, and now I weigh him about once a month just to make sure he's steady. I could calibrate my scale based on my 70g Duck. Rolling Eyes

Okay, I guess the poll did show up on top after all. I just think breakfast, lunch, and dinner is excessive. Not to mention that it gives them 3X a day to ignore the pellets and eat the treats Mom throws in there.

Well, I give Sylvia fresh food every morning, but she eats what I eat during the day...technicalities are not my specialty...

I give mine all fresh pellets every morning which stays in their cages all day. And they get fed at least 2 times a day with fresh veggies/pasta or rice and fruit in the afternoon. Pete and Jimmy get out at dinner so they steal I mean eat what we eat then. Depends on if I'm at work though.

I feed mine once a day in the morning. My conure eats no people food... does not like fruit or vegetables, turns up her little beak at them. She does like popcorn, but that is a rare treat.

The grey is more flexible and he grazes when I am cooking... vegetables, fruit, breads and anything else he can get his beak on. (Of course loves all the things that are bad for him...french fries, etc.)
