Re: Callie's hatch day!
Callie seems to be settling down, but Cricket is something else!!! He's learned how to escape his cage. We went through four different "locking" mechanisms in one day, and he figured out how to undo every one of them! A couple didn't even last more than a few minutes. I'd hear him gurgling behind me, turn around, and there he was on top of Freddy's cage!! We finally figured out some good clips to use, and he's a very mopy little bird, now. lol! Too smart for his own good! He did this little cartwheel thing on his branch one morning when I was saying hello, and because I made such a fuss now he does it over and over again every morning!

Happy hatch day, Callie! And Cricket is a little bugger! I have Ducki in a 'big bird' cage where the locking mechanism requires you to push a button with more force than a Duck can muster. Until then you might try using some hemp twine to tie the door shut...

Re: Callie's hatch day!
We bought some small hooks like the kind holding in Callie's dishes. I purposely left it off the other day when I changed his water just so I could watch him. In like two seconds he lifted the door all the way with his beak, grabbed the side wire like a pole dancer with his feet, and swung himself around all the while holding the door. The door even came back down without a sound! Talented AND sneaky!!
