Last weekend we stopped by the pet store for more nutriberries (it's the treat Duck gets for going in his cage without biting when I have to leave the house), and they had a new line of toys (FunMax or MaxFun or something...wait apparently it's ZooMax) that included educational and foraging toys for smaller birds. I was of course immediately distracted, seeing as I can usually only find these types of toys in Much Bigger Than Ducki size. It took me 20 min to finally decide on what I considered a challenging foraging toy - a 'plunk' toy something like this http://www.zoo-max.com/508S%20Bird%20Plunk but clear and with only two levels.
As always, I set it up so that he could test it out under supervision. Of course, with a nutriberry in it, he was quite motivated to 'solve' the puzzle. Being Ducki, he also decided to solve it in his own unique way. I think it's safe to say that this will be a 'supervision only' toy
I think next time I might get one of the educational toys and teach Duck man shapes or colors or how to put a ring on a stick
