Catherine: There's lots of love in this family.
I know it sounds ...odd, but I now think my family's complete (even though I do plan on having children one day).
Andrea: Nope, I don't mind.
I brought Sylvia with me to my parents' place and dropped her off about a week before Christmas; I only dropped her off because I knew my in-laws didn't want my bird around for Christmas (well, only one person would be truly welcoming of her and he was busy). We went home on the 26th in the middle of a nasty snow storm (got almost 2 feet of snow here, that's unheard of in Virginia Beach). Luckily she wasn't with us when we had a little accident. We intended for my parents to come up for my birthday (Feb 1) and drop Sylvia off, but my dad ended up getting Shingles (the adult version of chicken pox which is completely evil). They then couldn't come up. We then planned for this past weekend which worked out great! I've got my girlie back, and she's already established that she's the top dog in the family. (She bit of 2 of Tripod's whiskers )
We really didn't mean for her to stay in South Carolina for so long, but in the time she was there "on vacation", we realized how much we really missed her (especially hubby; he didn't realize how much he actually talked to her until he started chirping at an empty cage).
Carol: My parents told me that she was chatting so much on the drive up to visit; we have a feeling she knew she was going home. We now have a joke that we could release her anywhere along the route we take and she'd fly at car-window-height all the way back home, she knows it that well.
Tripod actually sleeps like that...it's weird
But her weirdness makes her perfect for our family (even though she's not feathered)
